(The following is the obituary for the oldest son of Lawrence and Shirlee Yoder.
Christopher was a great grand-son of William Edgar McCulloh)
 
 
Christopher Jonathan Yoder, 40, of Harrisonburg, died of liver failure on Wednesday, August 31, 2011, at the home of a long-time friend in Harrisonburg.

He was born on June 2, 1971, in Kudus, Java, Indonesia, and was the son of Lawrence M. and Shirlee K. Yoder.  He was affiliated with Park View Mennonite Church.  He graduated from Eastern Mennonite University and was an artist, musician and avid reader with a keen mind.  Chris had a generosity of spirit.

 In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Anna Mae Kohler, of Ashland, Ohio.  He is also survived by two brothers, Gregory M. Yoder and wife Jeanine, of Fresno, California; and Bradley D. Yoder and wife Beth, of Durham, North Carolina.  He is survived by three nephews in California:  Morgan, Grant and Luke; and three nieces in North Carolina:  Lily, Juliet and Evelyn who adored him.

 A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at 1:30 p.m., in Park View Mennonite Church. Family will receive friends after the service.
