On February 1, 2009 Jerrold and Pamala Ireland of Panama announced the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Ann, to Joel L. Keefer, the son of James and Sylvia Keefer of Elizabethtown, Pa., formerly of Forestville, N.Y. Miss Ireland is also the granddaughter of Betty Lawson of Falconer, Margaret Ireland of Panama and the late Theodore Lawson and Jarvis Ireland.

Miss Ireland is a 2003 graduate of Panama Central School and a 2006 graduate of Jamestown Community College, earning a degree in business administration. She is employed by The Resource Center as an operations clerk and by Spencer Gifts as a sales associate. Her fiance is a 1993 graduate of Forestville Central School and a 1998 graduate of the State University at Fredonia with a degree in communications. He is employed as the executive assistant to Gregory J. Edwards, Chautauqua County Executive.

A May 16, 2009, wedding is planned.
